Questions?One of the most frequent questions we have is whether this should be done standing up, or seated. You can do this standing. But remember that you'll be standing for 25 to 30 minutes. You can also be seated, however, you lose a little space under the belly. Whatever you do, don't make it lying down. Your tummy flattens out when you're on your back as by weight baby finds another position.
We're also asked if any of the products we sell would harm the mother or the unborn baby. The answer is, "no". You'll coat your tummy with petroleum jelly easily found at any grocery store, which is okay for skin for the short exposure. The plaster is okay as well. It's medical grade, the very same used in thousands of doctors offices world wide. We have not had a single complaint in over 5,000 sold. And, to be on the safe side, we had our materials checked by OB Gyn Michael Dent MD. We want you to be totally at ease when making your creation and know that prenatal care is our concern as well. Where can you get decorating tips for your finished product? Just check out these photos! Remember, most oil based paints will work best as the plaster is porous. To hang your finish Belly Cast, simply drill holes through the shoulder area and string a wire from one side to the other. You can reinforce the hole with a large button or washer. When we launched our initial kit in June of 2000, it was the most copied kit on the market. Having sold so many kits and listening to our customers we totally changed our marketing and created a "no frills" kit. Our orders tripled because the packaging on the more expensive kits you'll find is pretty, but that's not why you're buying the kit. You won't get a plastic drop cloth in our kit and you won't get petroleum jelly. Those two items are what make shipping so expensive on competitors kits. They are readily available at the corner drug store where they are transported for mere pennies.
