I was reading about ovarian cancer and it said “A Woman with a history of multiple pregnancies” was a low risk factor for developing the cancer. What does this mean. Does it mean multiple as in giving birth to twins or triplets or does it mean having many pregnancies in general. I have given birth to 3 children at 3 different times. Does this mean I have a history of multiple pregnancies. Thanks for any help.

Multiple pregnancies (not necessarily multiple births) means you have been pregnant more than once. For instance, you can be pregnant but miscarry, and it would still count as a pregnancy.

However, please don’t take the fact that you are at low risk to mean you have no risk-continue to get yearly Pap smears and pelvic exams. If you have ovaries, you can get ovarian cancer. Period.
