Question by Sara C: How early can you feel the “early signs of pregnancy“?
Ok os here’s the deal. My period is always sparatic anyways, usually at the end of the month, and I always have sore breasts beforehand, its one of my indicators that my monthly visitor is coming. But this month, I started having sore breasts and they actually feel kind of hard! And this started at the beginning of this month! Here it is the 28th and I haven’t had my period yet.

I also have had some cramping. Nothing unbearable, but every so often I get a cramp down there that hurts then goes away after a couple minutes.

Could these be signs of pregnancy or is it still too early to tell? Because it is still a little too early for me to take a pregnancy test. I figure I’ll give myself until the beginning of September to take one just to be sure that I’m not taking it too early… somebody please help!! An answer from an OBGYN or doctor would be nice….

Best answer:

Answer by P&Rsmommy
Look at it this way- if the symptoms you feel are the result of pregancy, you will probably have a positive pregnancy test. Pregnancy symptoms are usually the result of those hormones increasing, so there would be enough to trigger the test. If you’re past the point where you would have your period, take a test.

Hi all.
The first day of my LMP was April 4th, and for the past few days I have had ZERO energy and my stomach and back have been really achy & crampy.
If I was pregnant, this would be my second pregnancy, but I just really don’t remember feeling this way with my first pregnancy.
Would it be too soon to be feeling like this, or am I just being over dramatic?

Thoughts?

Best answer:

Answer by Expecting our 2nd Jan 1st 2012
well my lmp was march 28th and I got 11 positive tests (I went crazy, well 6 positive on the 19th and another 5 spread out over the week lol) on April 19th so I was 3 weeks pregnant. And I swear I was already tired and crampy. Now at 4 weeks I am severely crampy, tired, my nipples are darkening already, Im moody, hormonal and like you, dont remember this starting so quickly last time. My friend says its twins lol anyway, it hits people sooner than others that’s what Im going with… good luck.

Irving, TX (PRWEB) April 24, 2007

For six million women a year the symptoms of pregnancy are followed by a positive pregnancy test, but for at least another six million women annually, symptoms are not what they seem.

That’s largely because the first tell-tale signs of pregnancy can be caused by many other factors like tension or stress, changing or stopping hormonal contraceptive use, breastfeeding, excessive weight gain or loss, or fatigue.

The American Pregnancy Association hears from thousands of these women who need clarification on the pregnancy symptoms that they are experiencing. Some of these questions are from women who are trying to conceive, whereas others are hoping their symptoms may be related to something else.

“More than a fifth of the inquiries we receive are questions related to the possibility of being pregnant,” explains Dr. Brad Imler, American Pregnancy Association President. “We consistently hear from women who want to know what different symptoms mean and how to tell if they’re pregnant or perhaps just pre-menstrual.”

Several symptoms of pregnancy, such as breast tenderness, headaches, or nausea, can also precede a woman’s menstruation. If women aren’t trying to become pregnant, they may disregard these symptoms as nothing more than a usual part of her menstrual cycle. Every symptoms of pregnancy has the possibility of being explained away by something else.

The alternative possibilities for the symptoms and the fact that more than fifty percent of women turn out not to be pregnant easily explains the number of questions women have about the possibility of pregnancy. For women trying to decipher between a potential pregnancy and a menstrual cycle or some other explanation, the American Pregnancy Association provides a wealth of knowledge at no cost to its clients.

The free education support helpline answers questions about pregnancy at (800) 672-2296. Women can also learn more about pregnancy by visiting the American Pregnancy Association Web site.
